AFMA is headed to Juneau to request another SNAP Market Match program 5-year allocation (2027-2031) and to co-host the All Alaska Grown dinner at the Governor’s mansion (February 10th). We’ll be in Juneau advocating with our partners Food Bank of Alaska, Alaska Food Coalition, Alaska Food Policy Council, Alaska Farm Land Trust and Alaska Farm Bureau for a food secure future for all Alaskans.

Without it, this summer will be the last of the current 5-year pilot program which has been a wonderful success. To follow food security week legislative happenings weekly, sign up for On the Menu from Alaska Food Policy Council as an incredible resource.
The All Alaska Grown dinner celebrates the 40th anniversary of Alaska Grown and features farmers and markets from around the state. Seven of the nine farmers contributing are SNAP authorized, accept WIC Senior benefits, and participate in LFPA programs. We are excited to have legislators, staff, and friends taste the value of local Alaska food for all.
