Why Advocacy?
AFMA works with organizations that stand for Alaska farmers, community-supported agriculture, food security, and the prosperity of our community, to help ensure a resilient local and statewide economy.
We support local markets because they:
Offer high-quality and fresh products
Bring communities Together
Promote local businesses
Increase our access to nutritious food
Help make connections
Are environmentally friendly

Beginning and Young Alaskan Farmer Chapter
We are launching an Alaskan Chapter of the National Young Farmers Coalition, a national nonprofit whose mission is to “…shift power and change policy to equitably resource our new generation of working farmers.” This chapter will serve novice farmers and ranchers in Alaska.
We are currently collecting data such as contact information, farm types, experience, demographics, and interest in the chapter. Please take our survey and help us commence this project.
Our Partners
Thank you to our wonderful partners who help us support Alaska farmers markets. We couldn’t do our work without your contribution!
